1. CIP SPRINT - Up to RM600,000 for Tech Commercialisation

Administered by Cradle Fund, CIP SPRINT is a conditional grant of up to RM600,000 over a maximum of 18 months, aimed at technology-based companies moving from prototype to commercialisation. Funds are disbursed via advance payment and reimbursement, tied to milestone deliverables such as revenue and traction targets.

  • Best for: Sdn Bhd companies (including university spin-offs) with a working product ready to scale

  • Note: This is a conditional grant - unmet milestones can trigger repayment obligations

  • Apply via: Cradle's Grant Management System

2. GGSM4 - Government Guarantee Scheme MADANI 2026

GGSM4, managed by SJPP, is one of the largest financing guarantee programmes currently available, with a total scheme limit of RM30 billion. It doesn't lend money directly - instead, it guarantees a portion of a bank loan, making it easier for majority Malaysian-owned businesses to get approved for working capital or capital expenditure financing.

The terms differ by company size and sector, so it's worth checking exactly where your business falls before assuming the headline numbers apply to you:

Financing Limit

Guarantee Coverage

MSME - Focus sectors (Bumiputera, Halal, Tourism, high-growth sectors)

Up to RM20 million

Up to 80%

MSME - All other sectors

Up to RM20 million

Up to 70%

Mid-Tier Companies (MTC), export-oriented

Up to RM30 million

Up to 70%

Eligible companies must be at least 51% Malaysian-owned. Applications remain open until 30 June 2027, or until the scheme limit is fully utilised, whichever comes first.

3. Market Development Grant (MDG) - Up to RM300,000 Lifetime

Run by MATRADE, the MDG is a reimbursable grant that helps Malaysian exporters offset the cost of international trade fairs, trade missions, overseas retail listings, and international B2B meetings. It carries a lifetime cap of RM300,000 per company. Since March 2025, all applications are processed through the MADANI Digital Trade (MDT) platform rather than MATRADE's previous system, so companies need to register on MDT first even if they held a MATRADE membership before.

  • Best for: SMEs, professional service providers, and trade associations actively exporting or planning to

  • Claim window: Submit within 30 calendar days of the qualifying event

4. MSME Digital Grant MADANI - Up to RM5,000 for Digitalisation

A 50% matching grant, capped at RM5,000 per company, to help micro, small and medium enterprises adopt digital tools - from e-invoicing and POS systems to accounting software and e-commerce setup. Administered by BSN in partnership with MDEC and MCMC.

  • Eligibility: At least 60% Malaysian-owned, registered with SSM (or equivalent), minimum 6 months in operation, and average annual turnover of at least RM50,000

  • Note: Companies that previously received a Digitalisation Matching Grant are generally not eligible again, except for e-invoicing or AI-related services

5. LiKES - Internship Placement Matching Grant

For SMEs and start-ups hiring interns, TalentCorp's LiKES programme was significantly enhanced from March 2026. Employers can now receive:

  • An RM2,000 upfront advance grant per intern (minimum 4-month placement, first 5 interns per company)

  • 50% reimbursement of the monthly allowance, capped at RM850/month, for up to 12 months

Each employer can claim benefits for a maximum of 10 interns in total. RM10 million has been allocated for the programme in 2026. This is a practical one for businesses building a talent pipeline without the full cost of hiring - and it pairs well with structured payroll planning if you're bringing multiple interns on at once.

6. HRD Corp Training Grant

If your company contributes to the Human Resources Development Fund, HRD Corp offers training subsidies to help offset course fees for eligible skills-development programmes. It's less a single "grant" and more a standing benefit worth actively budgeting for as part of annual staff development.

7. Domestic Investment Accelerator Fund (DIAF)

A matching grant scheme under MIDA aimed at supporting automation, ESG initiatives, smart manufacturing, and productivity upgrades for qualifying companies. Useful for manufacturers or capital-intensive operations planning a modernisation phase.

Also Worth Knowing: Consumer-Facing Support

A few schemes affect households and individual staff rather than the business itself, but they're worth being aware of if they touch your workforce or fleet:

  • BUDI Diesel - As of 1 July 2026, the previous RM200/month cash assistance for diesel vehicle owners has been replaced by a point-of-sale subsidy: eligible private diesel vehicles now pay RM2.10/litre directly at the pump using MyKad verification, rather than receiving a separate monthly payment. If your business runs a diesel fleet, this is worth flagging to your finance team as it changes how the subsidy shows up (or doesn't) in your books.

  • STR (Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah) - Ongoing cash assistance for B40/M40 households, paid in phases through the year.

  • SKK (Skim Khairat Kematian) - A RM1,000 death benefit for STR recipients' families, claimable via BSN.

Which Grant Fits Your Business?

With several schemes carrying different eligibility rules, application windows, and documentation requirements, it's easy to either miss a deadline or apply for something you don't actually qualify for. If you'd like help mapping these against your company's financials - or just want your books in order before you apply - our team can walk through it with you.
